Alexandra Maria Lara was born in Romania. She's now a Romanian/German actress. Her most well-known movies include Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. As the only daughter from Romanian acting star Valentin Platareanu Alexandra stepped into showbiz early and landed up playing lead roles in different TV dramas before she turned 16. After her critically acclaimed role in the TV movie Der Tunnel, Alexandra went onto play more notable parts, including Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudljunge on Downfall. This film received nominations for an Oscar and was a critical as well as commercial great success. The other Oscar nominated film starring the diva include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra's career has seen her work on a number of important national and international projects. They include the British biographical film Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and the French historical mini-series Napoleon as well as other miniseries. She has also been a juror at the Transylvania International Film Festival as in The Cannes Film Festival.
